Focal Segmental Glomerulo Sclerosis (FSGS):

It is a complicated name that means:

Focal – some

Segmental – sections

Glomerulo – of kidney filters

Sclerosis – are scarred

FSGS scarring causes the kidneys to stop doing their job of filtering waste through the urine and keeping protein in the blood. Protein is lost in the urine and fluid collects in the body instead. This leads to swelling, high blood pressure, and a host of other ailments, including kidney damage or failure.

Doctors are conducting a clinical study to see how well and how safely an investigational drug reduces protein in the urine.

Important Note: This clinical research study is currently under way; however, we are no longer seeking new patients for participation.
